Manual Door Closers
A manual door closer will close a door after it has been opened by hand. To limit the door's speed, and for Fire Regulations door closers have to be fitted to doors. They work using a hydraulic (oil-filled) damper. A spring-type door closer usually shuts the door very quickly, banging the door shut. This type of closer would be used on a swing door, but does not meet Fire Regulations.
It is very important that doors closers are working properly, if not they can be just as much of a security risk as well as a fire risk. A closer not working properly can hold the door open, therefore leaving an invitation to unwanted visitors.
We fit heavy duty door closers from 60kg to 120kg depending on the size of the door.
